about

The better half of the first full length live appearance by Justin's Wonderful Time. A vision through the man known as: Justin Grignon.

October 2021: I think this rules, I improvised some of this stuff in a state of sheer panic. The photo of me is one I took in the bathroom right before my set. I was anxious as hell. Tried to amuse myself before I put my reputation way out on a limb. Life is hard, and I felt especially lethargic, punishing, and depressed, but I sincerely love repetition, the more audacious the better. The last track fizzles in my ears, ends with a trancelike pulse from the good turn o delay pedal on and off with my hands. For half of this I was crouched and fiddling with pedals while the loops took care of the heavy lifting. Lots of slight melodic and sonic touches. I rolled my gear to the performance recording from inside the travel bag. I pressed play on this recording during the song called Wheels Scrape My Face. I never checked the levels (because I saw it as my secret weapon and didn't want to spoil the surprise) so it ended up way louder than necessary, and inaudible after the host named Coulter reasonably decided to turn it down. I don't get out much. The song titles are meant to be dreamt of to the music. There's a circus theme, which I only noticed when putting this together. I did play a fumbled version of Michael before Coulter turned on the recorder, and luckily it sucked anyway! I much prefer the recorded version on Cost of Death.

Thanks to: Robin, Coulter, Kieran, Clayton, and anyone else who complimented me on my set.
